Cuffee-Glenn
Selena Cuffee-Glenn is the City Manager for
the City of Suffolk. She was unanimously
appointed by the City Council on February 1,
2008, officially becoming the first woman
and first African-American to hold the
position of the city’s chief administrative
officer. Ms. Cuffee-Glenn began her tenure
with the City in June 2005 as Assistant City
Manager for Development. Before coming to
Suffolk, she served four years as the
Director of Planning and Community
Development for the Richmond Redevelopment
and Housing Authority. While there, she
directed an economic and neighborhood
development portfolio totaling more than
$300 million in public and private
investments. Previously, she served two
years as Deputy Director for the Division of
Housing and Neighborhood Preservation in the
City of Richmond’s Department of Community
Development and also served 15 years as
Principal Planner and Senior Planner in that
same division.
A native of Chesapeake, Cuffee-Glenn
received both her Bachelor of Arts and
Master of Planning degrees from the
University of Virginia. Ms. Cuffee-Glenn
served for numerous years as the Alternate
Board member on SPSA’s Board of Directors
and was named the Ex-Officio Board Member
effective January 2010. She is also a member
of SPSA’s Board of Directors Executive
Committee. |
