The Honorable Joseph A. Leafe (Ret.)
is a mediator, facilitator and trainer. His
areas of expertise include local government,
organizational disputes, contracts, employment,
real estate, corporate disputes,
and professional liability. For over three
decades, Judge Leafe has helped to facilitate
disputes between opposing parties in a number
of different venues. Judge Leafe was an
outstanding lawyer with the Norfolk Firm
of
Wilcox & Savage from 1982 to 1998. He
was a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates
for eight years beginning in 1972. He then
served on the Norfolk City Council from
1980 until 1992. He served as Mayor of Norfolk
from 1984-1992. Judge Leafe was appointed
to the Norfolk Circuit Court in 1998. Five
years later he became the Chief Judge and
remained in that position until he retired
in 2006.
Judge Leafe received his undergraduate degree
from Hampden-Sydney College and his law
degree from University of Virginia School
of Law. |
