SPSA recycled over 3 million pounds of plastic in 2006 - enough to make over 370,000 soda bottles (2-liter).
SPSA recycled over 1.3 million pounds of tin and steel in 2006 - that's enough tin and steel to make 13,000 refrigerators.
SPSA recycled 42,794 cubic yards of yard waste in 2006 - that's enough to make over 577,000 bags of mulch and compost.

Below is additional information on this group: Who: Cradock Citizens Advisory Committee on Waste Management for Portsmouth and SPSA What: The purpose of the Cradock Citizens Advisory Committee on Waste Management for Portsmouth and SPSA shall be to serve as an advisory body to the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) and the City of Portsmouth. Primary goals include, but are not limited to, environmental quality, enhancing communications and creating a more beneficial partner relationship among SPSA, The Cradock community and the city of Portsmouth.
