SPSA Martin Luther King Day Holiday Schedules

 (Chesapeake, VA – January 16, 2008) – For the Monday, January 21, 2008 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday, all of SPSA administrative offices will be closed.  

Also, the following operating facilities will be closed for the holiday: Suffolk Transfer Station, 1 Bob Foeller Drive; the Oceana Transfer Station, 2025 Virginia Beach Boulevard; and the Yard Waste Mulching Facility, 1991 Jake Sears Road, Virginia Beach.

The following operating facilities will be open one-half day:

• Chesapeake Transfer Station
• Franklin Transfer Station
• Norfolk Transfer Station
• Landstown Transfer Station
• Isle of Wight Transfer Station
• Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant
• Regional Landfill

Also, the only curbside recycling routes affected by the holiday are those within the City of Chesapeake. The curbside recycling routes scheduled for the 21st will be serviced on Wednesday January 23, 2008. No other communities’ routes are affected by the holiday.

Finally, the Power Plant, 3809 Elm Avenue, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
