Oceana Transfer Station To Close for Repairs December 7 and 14

(Chesapeake, VA – December 5, 2007) – To make necessary repairs at the Oceana Transfer Station, 2025 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, the facility will close on Friday, December 7 and Friday, December 14. (While the facility is not open on Saturdays, repairs also will be done on Saturday the 8th and 15th as well.)

As the repairs are primarily for exterior structures, the weather could affect these closure dates. If the dates are affected, an update will be announced.

Finally, the Oceana Transfer Station accepts waste only from Virginia Beach municipal haulers and area private waste haulers. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No residential waste deliveries are accepted at this facility. Residents may use the Landstown Transfer Station, 1825 Concert Drive, Virginia Beach. Hours of operation for the Landstown facility are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to Noon.
