SPSA To Hold Special Board Meeting For Examination Of New Financial Pro Forma And Debt Repayment Model

- Meeting to be held December 13, 9:30 a.m. -

(Chesapeake, VA – December 6, 2007) – On Thursday, December 13, 2007, the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) will hold a special meeting to review, discuss and examine a new financial pro forma and debt repayment model developed by R.W. Beck, Inc. The meeting will be held in the Regional Board Room, 723 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake and will begin at 9:30 a.m.

At the November 28 regular meeting of the SPSA Board of Directors, R.W. Beck Principal Jeff Clunie provided a review of the current status of the new SPSA financial pro forma and debt repayment model. Due to the Board's interest in having a review of the model soon, the Board approved the scheduling of the special meeting.

SPSA is extending invitations to this meeting to all elected officials, member community Staff, and the public.

            SPSA has been providing efficient and environmentally sound waste disposal services to the region and its residents since 1985. SPSA’s solid waste management system includes waste-to-energy, yard waste composting, drop-off and curbside recycling as well as other recycling programs, household hazardous waste collection, landfilling, landfill gas-to-energy and education programs. This integrated waste management system enables SPSA to put 57% of the waste it receives to a beneficial use, thus allowing the region to reduce its dependence on landfills.
